First of all, thanks for the constructive criticism and no I'm not pissed about it. I have no issues with constructive criticism or difference in point of views.
This story is an adaption. Chapter 1-5 was written by a different author. My story starts from chapter 6.
You are right, I did use deus ex machina to conclude the Italy part. Italy or what could have happened there is not a part of my story world.
If I was the author then I'd not have taken the main characters to Italy, introduced Bongani and create such a pathetic situation. My story requires depth.
Actual story begins from chapter 8, after four year time skip when Ayan goes to College. The real focus of chapter 16 and 17 is not Bidisha but Ayan. He needed to part ways with his mother to create his own path.
Talking about Seminar Arc, it sounds ludicrous to think that a 21 year old playboy would have been able to success seduce a 37 year old woman, a trauma survivor on top of that. I can't destroy one my main character's character arc just because some readers here want to use the story as their masturbation material.
I liked your input about sensuality. You see, I have not reached that part yet. I'm still in world building phase which you have wrongly put as adding sub-plots. Every character introduced here have to play their part. I hope you are aware about the "Chekov's Gun" principle. I follow it religiously.
"Main character has to suffer sexually and mentally at the hand of other antagonists. Throughout the whole thing her son will help her and they will walk through fire together."
These are your thoughts not mine.
Ayan and Arun, both are as much important as Bidisha when comes the story. Infact, Actual center-point of this story is not Bidisha but Ayan. But, that will become relevant only in the latter part of story.
Some of my favorite adult literature
1. When We Were Married Series By Daniel Q Steele
2. Grip by Jamie Bennett
3. The Marriage Betrayal by Melanie Blake
